½ pound salmon cut into 1 cm thick slices

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon fish sauce

3 spoon balsamic vinegar

2 spoons oyster sauce

A dash of brown sugar

1 teaspoon of oil

Lettuce

Cucumbers

Tomatoes

Balsamic Salmon Marinade

Make the marinade by mixing vinegar, soy sauce, fish sauce, a dash of sugar and oyster sauce and whisk until the sugar is fully dissolved. If you do not like to add sugar, you can substitute with 2 tablespoons of honey. This will get the marinade the balance between sour and sweet. I always have to taste my marinade and add the ingredients as needed.

Cooking steps for Marinated Vinegar Salmon

Brush the pieces of salmon with the marinade, make sure all the sides get in contact with the marinade. You could leave the salmon in the marinade for 10 minutes or more for the flavors to infuse.

On a hot pan add a table spoon of oil and the salmon, keep turning until the salmon is cooked through. If handled with care it will not break but its ok if it breaks. All you want is to cook it through and the great taste. Cook this in batches until you are done.

Give it 5 minutes to rest and release all the juices and cool down.

Meanwhile on a clean plate layer the lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes and finish up with the cooked salmon in that order, sprinkle all the juices from the pan on the salmon. Wrap it up and enjoy your meal. Alternatively, have the thinly chopped up and place the salmon on the side. Another simple recipe to try on memorial day would be these skewers.
